This year's swimming gala was held on the 10th of March in its usual location, the Cheras Campus. This is the event where the courageous tiger, swift eagle, steady bull and the ferocious bears all go head to head in the school swimming pool. I'm Weng Kee, bringing you the scoop on what went this year! Tension was high among the swimmers, at least, that was what I heard. I however, felt most of the swimmers were enjoying themselves, that exhilarating blood rush through their bodies, the chance to show others what they were made of and for some, a time to make a name for themselves. However it wasn't just the pool that was buzzing, the Cempaka Avenue was not spared from the relentless activities. There, Seladang had set up an arm wrestling booth for all you "tough guys" out there, also, for all you guys and gals who thought you were good with a pair of chopsticks one game booth involving marbles and a bucket of water proved most of you wrong. Helang had their talons set on providing everyone with some atmosphere as their Hit Em' Up party was keeping everyone grooving to the beat. The variety of music listed by the A-levels was quite popular, I even made a request myself. Harimau kept their theme in body and decided to set up a football ring with a little 3 on 3 action, fortunately, nothing got broken, besides maybe the pride of some of those who didn't do so well. Harimau also provided cool fruity drinks in the canteen for the thirsty students who cheered their teams on. The Beruang's decided to ration the hungry students with waffles! The nutritious breakfast that filled the stomachs of the swimmers and aided them in their cause! Lastly,Did you happen to catch some of the YJC members? Well they weren't just shooting the breeze with everyone, they had a duty to uphold, a duty to sell frosty treats to the hot swimmers and students.

All in all, it was an absolute blast, and for the first time in years, the mighty Beruang's were defeated by Harimau and might I add by an impressive margin. It seems once again that what goes up must come down! Good job to all who participated. See you next year!
