Alas the long wait is over! On the 14th of February 2007 the official prize giving ceremony for the My Ideal School competition and Valentine's Day was held in the Cheras Campus' North Hall. Our guest of honour for the prize giving ceremony was, Dr. Mohamad Nor bin Mohamad Taib, Director of the Department of Private Education Ministry of Education Malaysia. The assembly began with Datin Freida's welcoming address. In her welcoming address she drew attention to an entry that deserved a special mention,Luwiza Mohd Fadzil. In her essay, she wrote that she wanted a Braille based computer in her school. With that, she walked home with a Mac book with a Braille keyboard and hotel vouchers courtesy of Sekolah Sri Cempaka and Cempaka Travel Bug. Following shortly was a few words from Dr. Mohamad Nor on his thoughts about the competition.

After that, the prize giving ceremony commenced. Two students from the Cempaka Damansara Campus won in 2 different categories, Adeline Kong Yee Ching who won 1st place in Category B and Alisraa bt Aldin Bakar who won 3rd place in Category D. Also, the top 5 schools namely SMK Perempuan Methodist (Pulau Pinang), SK Seri Selangor (Subang Jaya), SMJK Chan Wa (Negeri Sembilan), SMK Bukit Merah (Negeri Sembilan), SMJK Dindings Pundut (Perak) were selected for the most essays entries and they were awarded with a 1 year supply of newspapers through NST's School-Sponsorship Programme.Once the prize giving ceremony ended, the celebrations for Valentine's Day began, the performing arts team from Sri Cempaka showcased a number of performances for our guests. The opening was a duet by Farah Alya and Hana singing Bunga Cempaka. Shortly after that were some classical performances and an adorable Princess Medley which serenaded and charmed in matching costumes. Besides that there were songs like Can You Feel The Love Tonight, In Love With You and The Greatest Gift of All, all of which blew the audience away. But what left the audience really flabbergasted was the talents of the youngprimary string ensemble playing 2 items, Go the Distance and You'll Be In My Heart. With that concludes the assembly.
