“Oh, look. That iPod is HOT!”

“Did you see that? That cellphone, it’s just so slim and it looks so ---”

As you might have noticed, those are common lines often said by every adolescent and adult in this world. I wonder how they keep up with all the up-rising modern electronics. It doesn’t matter if it’s an iPod, a Play Station, a laptop, a cellphone and even a camera; everyone just wants the latest of everything. Why people need them? Some just delight in owning one and some, without them, it’s like a life or death situation.

Let’s talk specifically - cellphones. From candybar to sliders, it’s a necessity in a man’s everyday life (not to forget the women too). From a busy businessman to teenagers, every single thing you could possibly think of stored in the tiny little mobile phone. It’s not one’s imagination; cellphones just become increasingly smaller and slimmer every time a new model is released. Hence the phrase “Slim phones for small pockets”.

Do you own an iPod? Well, the unusual eye-catching designs created to improvise the ipods are just growing in numbers, don’t you think? The new I- phone, Apple’s latest invention is smart, shiny and quite perfect – or so everyone thinks. Although the commercials didn't tell us much more than what we already know, they do let us get a look at the device in action. Result? Everyone comes to school talking about it. Our school, Sri Cempaka uses Apple Macbooks. They are fast, attractive and useful in every possible way. It’s durable and eases the teaching and I would say we learn more than the norm!

Quite simply, third-party iPod vendors are going bananas. Besides cellphones and iPods, there is a long list of Plasma televisions, digital cameras and even home theatre sound systems. All the above are favourite play toys to the recent modern world. I, myself, would say those electronics do make my day. They come in handy once in a while and soon you get so used to it, you just have to bring it along wherever you go.

They might be a pest sometimes when it runs out of batteries or when you reluctantly answer a phone call from a pesky wrong caller. All in all, I would say it revolutionizes us. It takes a big leap from the old age and if we didn’t have it, there would undoubtedly be a big black hole.
