After days, months and years of being in Cempaka, the Form Five seniors held their final event in school, Testimonial Day. Testimonial Day is a day where all the Fifth Formers gather with their teachers and parents to receive their Testimonials from their respective tutors. These testimonials are to assist each student to enter their desired college or university for their further studies.
At the stroke of ten past nine, cars were seen pulling up at the entrance of Sri Cempaka and parents were hurriedly entering the Dato’ Pilus Hall. Greeted by their child, parents were introduced to their respective tutor. Upon receiving their testimonials and hearing praises and wishes of luck from the teachers, emotions were deeply stirred in many of our seniors’ hearts. After receiving the testimonials, valedictorian of the class of 2007, Tai Kai Sheng of Form 5 Science 1, was invited to the stage to convey his speech. According to many seniors, Kai Sheng’s speech was immensely comical yet deeply moving. Like many seniors, Kai Sheng stated that he would miss all of his moments that he had attained through his years in Cempaka. Kai Sheng representing all the Fifth Formers announced their utmost appreciation and gratitude towards their teachers for their patience and assistance in their studies. This was followed by a short video presentation that caused tears to well in many. Finally, Datin Freida, chairman of Sri Cempaka took the stage and expressed her best wishes to all Fifth Formers in their future and for their upcoming Sijil Penilaian Menengah (SPM) examinations.
Finally, Testimonial Day came to an end with plenty of hugs from all. We, the Young Journalists’ Club, would like to wish all the Fifth Formers best of luck and would deeply miss them in our hearts. |
