One day, as Kathy was walking home from school, she noticed that a frog was following closely behind her. She was shocked and curious. “Why would a frog follow me? Maybe it’s just my imagination,” she thought to herself. All of a sudden, the frog voiced out and spoke to her. “Hello, my dear friend,” said the frog. Kathy was startled and was confused whether this was a reality or just a dream. Yet she replied and asked, “Hello, are you a talking frog?” The frog told her that he really was a talking frog and that he was actually a prince merely turned into a frog by an evil witch.

Kathy was not a very bright girl and she didn’t like doing her homework. However, she was a very pretty girl with beautiful features. The frog told her that in six years’ time they would be 18 and if Kathy kisses the frog, he would turn back into a prince. The frog also offered to help Kathy with her schoolwork, as he was quite an intelligent man.

“Wild horses would never make me kiss a slimy disgusting frog!” Kathy thought. Kathy believed that the frog is telling the truth about his true self as a prince. She took up his offer on helping her with school work so she put him into her backpack and went straight back home.

When they arrived home, Kathy took out the frog and placed it on her study table. She took out her homework and the frog started to tell her the answers and dictate essays to her. Kathy finished her homework in a flash. However, the frog refused to let her go off to play but he ended up tutoring her on some of the important subjects. After a whole lot of studying, Kathy and the frog went to the park where Kathy released the frog into the pond while she took a walk with her friends.

In just a matter of weeks, Kathy made progress in majority of her subjects. Most of her teachers were truly impressed. Her parents, however, found it a little strange for Kathy seems to be talking to herself everyday in her room. Kathy and the frog spent a whole lot of time together. As years passed by so quickly, Kathy learned more and more about the frog. She started to build a liking for him. Kathy treated the frog well and confided in him about everything. The frog told her many different stories about his life as a royalty. He was really beginning to grow inside her. His apparently disgusting slime was no longer a worry to her. She was starting to see his kind and caring side which really outshines the disgusting slime and yucky parts of him as a frog. Slowly, Kathy began to fall in love with her frog.

On her eighteenth birthday, Kathy revealed the story about the frog to her parents. Her parents were disgusted and they attempted to stop her from falling in love with the frog. Kathy, still with her decision, immediately kissed the frog without any hesitation. In split seconds, the slimy frog turned into a charming, handsome prince. Kathy was lost beyond words. Just like a fairytale, Kathy ended up marrying the prince and lived a happy life with him.
