The BPL Dream Team
Reason:
THE MAIN TEAM
Joe Hart, Birmingham City (GK)
This keeper with 10 clean sheets in the season has shown outstanding reflexes making
magnificent saves. He was a very reliable last line of defense against many teams. He has
been chosen as the reserve keeper for the England World Cup team with jersey number
23 and I am sure he will impress the world if he gets the chance to play.
Nemanja Vidic, Manchester United (CB)
This man has been outstanding throughout this season and the seasons before. His
steady defending is one of his talents but he also causes havoc in the opposition defense
as he can score from corners with good headers.
Kolo Toure, Manchester City (CB)
Kolo Toure coming in on his first year leading Manchester City as captain shows his great
leadership as Manchester City came in fifth in the BPL. He proved to be as solid as a rock
in the back four making it hard for the opposition to attack. He also has very good discipline with only one yellow card in thirty one matches.
Patrice Evra, Manchester United (LB)
The fast paced left back always has the energy to go up and down continuously. Everywhere the ball is on his wing, he is always there. He may make a few defensive mistakes sometimes but pays for it with an excellent performance in the game.
Branislav Ivanovic, Chelsea (RB)
Due to several injuries, Ivanovic has shown qualities in both defence and attack. Without
him Chelsea may have lost their chance at the BPL.
Cesc Faregas, Arsenal (CM)
Though getting injured several times during the season, Fabregasʼs display on the field
has been magnificent. One of them was when he came on as a substitute injured, he
scored a double to give Arsenal a victory against Aston Villa. When Arsenal are without
this star, they look hopeless on the pitch.
James Milner, Aston Villa (RM)
This season James Milner has been better than he has been in other seasons he has
scored 7 goals and assisted 12 of it. Which is 4 more goals and 3 more assists compared
to his last season. This is a leading factor to Aston Villaʼs successful season.
Gareth Bale, Tottenham Hotspurs (LM)
Gareth Bale who played most of the season as a left back dazzled the world with wonderful performances when Harry Redknap decided to move him up in the wing. In this position, he scored a goal against both Arsenal and Chelsea and assisted their only goal
against Manchester United despite losing 3-1 to them.
Carlos Tevez, Manchester City (SS)
Carlos Tevez could be labelled as one of the most hardworking players I have ever seen in
the Barclays Premier League. His somehow the player that is always there. He plays a
great role as a supplier and a goalscorer.
Wayne Rooney, Manchester United (CF)
Rooney has stepped up to the challenge and has shown that Manchester United still have
the chance of winning the BPL. May had doubts on Man Utdʼs performance but now they
know what they are capable of. Wayne Rooney started with a blast going leading the race
for the Golden Boot (Price given to the top scorer of the BPL) but all good things must
come to an end. Wayne Rooney suffered an ankle and knee injury causing him to stop his
goal scoring. Rooney also improved h heading and has scored many goals with his head.
Didier Drogba, Chelsea (CF)
Didier Drogba, winner of the golden boot has once against prevailed as a striker with great
finishing skills. This is the player that makes things as easy as it sounds. Drogba is a
player that defenders need to keep a closer eye on as he is a player with amazing skills.
THE SUBSTITUES
Shay Given, Manchester City (GK)
Shay Given has been an excellent keeper through out and has made 91 saves and kept a
total of 11 clean sheets.
Thomas Vermaelen, Arsenal (Def)
Vermaelen had a very good start to the season but injury to him as well. He scored goals
from set pieces and scored his individual goals. His shots contain both power and accuracy.
Frank Lampard, Chelsea (Mid)
Once again Frank Lampard has had an amazing season. Though he plays a bit roughly in
some matches, during his good matches, Lampard may be the key to the successful wins.
Darren Bent, Sunderland (For)
Darren Bent is the underdog striker which nobody expected to do well at the start but then it all started with the infamous beach ball goal against Liverpool and he had ended up as the fourth top scorer in the BPL
