Been strolling in One-Utama or Ikano Power Centre lately? Seen kiosks with colossal red lips as signboards? Noticed the sidewalk cafe along Bintang Walk with chillout tunes blasting from its speakers?

Well, that's Lecka Lecka. This ice cream outlet serves chill Italian gelato (pronounced jeh-LAH-toh) which are friendly to the tastebuds. This is the Italian version of ice cream. This savory dessert is way, far more different than your everyday ice cream. Chilled between below -10C, this ice cream does not cause the, much avoided brain freeze and it also has a denser texture. At Lecka Lecka, the freshest of ingredients are used. Cream-based gelato uses 99.6% fat free milk whilst fruit-based gelato uses 99.9% fat free milk. So it also caters weight-watchers and general health-freaks.

Patrons can choose from 25 exciting flavors. Some that you might even be terrified to try. From the traditionally liked chocolate to the curious fruit combination such as the Caribbean mix, which enlists papaya, passion fruit, mango and wild berries yoghurt. I would recommend their house specialty, which is also their best-selling flavour, nockies. It is a heavenly blend of mild chocolate base with fudge ribbons, cookie crumbs and ground pistachio. Was that enough to make you crave for it?

So, the next time you pass by the kiosk, make sure to go over and take a peek at what's in store!
