Lupuskan LUPUS!

We've done our part for Down's Syndrome; now we want to 'lupuskan lupus'.

For those of you who aren't in the know, lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that affects mostly women, and its causes remains unknown. Lupus sufferers experience an overproduction of antibodies which attack healthy tissues such as the joints, lungs and heart. Sound pleasant? Most definitely not.

So call it chance, call it bad luck, these people need help. We (namely the Prefects' Board, PAPS and CADAS societies of Sri Cempaka Damansara), are stepping in, and we've decided to organize a day-long charity bazaar at One Utama to increase awareness among the public and raise funds for the Lupus Organization of Malaysia. As this happens to be one of the high-flying events of the year, we've invited YB Dato' Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, to officiate and enjoy the Cempaka Mekar. The event promises fun, excitement and first-rate entertainment, with a striking variety of performances by some of Cempaka's most illustrious talents as well as a special appearance by the acclaimed local band Naked Breed. If you're in the mood for shopping, have a look around our booths, which will boast an impressive array of items for sale; some of which will be handmade by students. We're selling food, drinks, t-shirts, brooches and many other exciting things, and all proceeds will go to the Lupus Organization.

We need funds, we need contributions, we need unparalleled enthusiasm and we need people. But most of all we need you. So be there. Saturday, 11th of March, between 11.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. One Utama shopping centre, Rainforest, Lower Ground Floor. Head over. Just spare us a little bit of your time. Every minute that you spend with us will make a difference, so invite your family, friends and anybody else that you'd like to attend this event to help us make it a day to remember. Do your part for charity and show us that you care. We promise to thank you profusely.
